Ever since I was a little girl, I loved music and I loved everything about church! I am in awe just to think that God has called me to be a part of God’s work in the world. I can’t count all the blessings that come my way as I serve God and live in community with you.
I have been the Minister of Music at Mt. Sylvan since January 1993, and love my job! One of the best parts of my job is that I get to share music with members from the youngest to the oldest – from Preschool music to Sylvan Seniors! I have watched children grow from birth/nursery/preschool through high school graduation and young adults. I love to help people use their musical and artistic abilities in worship and ministry and to cultivate gifts they might not even know they have! One of the best ways I know to praise and worship God is through music. I like to listen to Christian music, play the piano, and teach people of all ages new music.
I am married to Tim Wilkinson and we have four children and six grandchildren: Jennifer and Lance Rogers, Jordan and Luke; Melissa and Blake Long, Spencer and Tyler; Andrew and Hilary Wilkinson, Paige and Tate; and Aaron.
I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary-Charlotte. I was approved by the Board of Ordained Ministry and will be commissioned as a deacon at NC Conference in June. When I am not involved in work and ministry, I enjoy spending time with my family and relaxing at the beach.
