 urpose and GovernanceThe purpose of Mt. Sylvan Preschool is to have a program designed to help children grow mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. To help them make sense of the world around them and enable them to have an abundant life, "full, till it overflows". Mt. Sylvan Preschool is located north of Durham on Roxboro Road. It is housed in the educational building of Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church. It has been in operation for over 27 years and has met the educational and emotional needs of many children throughout these years. Mt. Sylvan Preschool serves the diverse needs of many children and is licensed by the State of North Carolina as a G.S. 110/91 General License facility. The Preschool Committee is responsible for establishing the policies of the Preschool and all policies must be approved by a majority vote. This committee is composed of a number of church members, church staff, a parent representative, and the preschool director. |
