Welcome, families!

Welcome! We are so glad you found us! At Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church, children experience a nurturing and faith-filled environment that encourages their growth as followers of Jesus. We want to partner with parents so that all children will know they are connected with God’s family. Our Children's Ministries Director,
Heather Thompson, is always happy to share and answer any questions about our program.

  • Children’s Sunday school

Sunday morning Sunday School starts each week at 9:00 a.m. in the Children's Ministry Tree House (Children's Center).

In both our PRESCHOOL and ELEMENTARY classes, we are following the Grow curriculum where each month becomes a new themed adventure as we explore and grow through scripture, music, crafts, and fellowship!

CURRENT SERIES: November 2024 Unsung Heroes: A 4-week series from the Old Testament on Ruth.

SERIES OVERVIEW: Superheroes aren't heroic only when they feel like it - they're brave each and every day. The best heroes can even inspire the people around them to be brave, faithful, and hopeful in their own lives, too. In this       4-week series, kids will learn more about what it looks like to see God as the hero of our story as they hear the story of Ruth and Naomi. They'll see how God gives them companions, opportunities, boldness, and hope so they can be heroes too!

We'd love to have you join us for Sunday Morning Sunday School!

  • Nursery

Nursery is provided for children infant-3 yrs.

Whether you need nursery care so you can attend a Sunday School class and/or while you join us for Worship, your child will be in great care! When you come to our nursery, you will find a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere!
We are blessed with great volunteers that love kids. All nursery workers have undergone a thorough background check and have been trained to follow Safe Sanctuaries procedures.

Safe Sanctuaries training certifies individuals as safe workers with children and youth in United Methodist ministries.

The nursery is found in the education building located across from the church sanctuary. Please ask any church member and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. Questions - contact our Nursery Coordinator here: nursery@mtsylvan.org
